Strategy Builder enables you to define and evaluate well-suited, multi-factor strategies for selecting investment candidates using both fundamental and technical analysis.

Explore topical themes and lists of instruments that catch your interest. Choose from a variety of themes including 5G, ESG Stocks, Cannabis Stocks and more! Thematic lists, preset screens and expert strategies are curated by Trading Central's expert analyst team.

Jump in and get screening using our Preset Screens which include lists of instruments that show Top Performers, Top Dividends, Abnormal Volumes and more! You can also click the Community Screens tab to find strategies that others have saved and shared.
Once your strategy is complete be sure to save it and share with others in the community!
Another way to begin is to select one of the pre-built Expert Strategies. You can sort through these strategies and choose the one that best fits your investment criteria.
Click through to learn more about the goal of the strategy, the criteria it uses and its list of matches.
Now that you have a jumping off-point for your strategy, you can modify it as much as you'd like. Try adding, removing or editing different filter criteria!
Once you've refined your strategy, be sure to save it and set up an email alert to get the latest investment ideas in your inbox!
At any time, click the Getting Started button in the top right corner and we will guide you through a short series of on-boarding questions that will help you get started!
Don't worry, you'll easily be able to go back and change all your criteria filters later!
Want to create a strategy completely unique to you? To get started select the Screening tab. By default we will show you a list of Top Performers in USA/Canada. If you'd like to start fresh, simply press the Clear All button in the top right corner.
Add screener criteria that support your investment goals. In the drop down, you will see the criteria choices divided into four categories. These include Company Basics, Trading, Technical and Fundamental criteria. Not familiar with something?
Click on the criteria and a brief description is included alongside all options!

Once you've selected some filters, continue to refine them. For example, set the "Stock Price" to a range you're comfortable investing in or filter for a desirable debt-to-equity ratio.
The Bulk Edit tab in the top right corner allows you to easily adjust the ranges of all your selected criteria.
Scroll down to the top results, where you'll find matching investments and their details.
Click on the stock ticker to view more details about the instrument and see why it ranked where it did based on the criteria you've selected.
Click through to Technical Insight and Value Analyzer to get more analysis on the instrument selected.
Once a strategy has been defined, it can be backtested across five years of data and compared to the index of your choice. This gives you a clear view of how your strategy would have performed historically, helping you to understand if it could "beat the market" or if adjustments may be required.
If you scroll past the results table, you will then find the part of the page where you can backtest your strategy. Select the index you would like to use to backtest your strategy against, then press Calculate.
Blue line: Your strategy's performance over the past 5 years.
Red line: The performance of the index of you choice.
Dropdown: Select another index for comparison.

If your strategy isn't beating the market, feel free to adjust the parameters of your screen and retest as many times as you'd like.
